Evidence-Based Relationship Courses

Bringing Baby Home

The greatest gift you can give your child is a close relationship between the two of you!  Research shows that within three years after the birth of a baby, approximately 2/3 of new parents will experience a significant drop in relationship quality and have a dramatic increase in conflict. Bringing Baby Home is an educational program for expecting parents and families with children up to 3 years of age. The goal of the program is to improve the quality of life for babies and children by strengthening the parental relationship.  It was designed by Drs. Julie and John Gottman and their research shows that families who have participated in the Program learned ways to:

  • Strengthen their friendship with their partner
  • Increase intimacy and affection
  • Share their needs
  • Deal effectively with conflict
  • Keep each parent / caregiver involved in infant care and parenting
  • Improve the quality of parent-infant interaction
  • Recognize the psychological and emotional needs of their child
  •  Co-Parent effectively and understand their family philosophy
